LIRR connection from Long Island City, Queens to Grand Central Terminal was built as part of the East Side Access project.  

Bison Rail Systems was sub-contracted to provide signal system testing oversight, track circuit testing, Microprocessor testing and technical support during pre-testing and cutover by the signal system provider.  

Bison Rail was also responsible for the final interface and terminations of the fiber and communications systems within the signal rooms. Qualified signal and communications employees performed the fiber installation, terminations and provided testing support.
