To support the daily train operations into Grand Central Terminal, the LIRR built the Mid-Day Storage Yard.  

Bison Rail Systems was sub-contracted to provide signal system testing oversight, track circuit testing, Microprocessor testing and technical support during pre-testing and cutover by the signal system provider.
