C&S Strategy Project
RAILWAY COMMUNICATIONS & SIGNALING DESIGN
Bison Rail Systems assisted in the research and development of a comprehensive design plan for replacement of end-of-life communications and signaling equipment, as well as selecting the state-of-the-art C&S equipment that will be procured and installed for capital projects.
Assisted Metro-North with assessment of various solid-state and power frequency track circuits that are currently available in the railway signaling industry for replacing existing, phase-selective, A.C. track circuits.
Wrote procurement specifications for cable trough, AC & DC impedance bonds, switch machines, and crossing gate mechanisms.
Researched current state of the art for various signaling equipment, including surge arrestors, batteries & battery chargers, L.E.D. signals, track circuits, vital and non-vital interlocking processors.
Wrote several sections of a comprehensive report detailing findings and recommendations regarding state of the art signaling products.
